The Great Cominatrix

I do many things.
---
Apparently some very thick people take offense to my previous blog heading so whatever. Here’s how it is: If you and I are in a discussion, I will be remaining relatively calm, I will keep personal attacks away, but I will not consider what you are saying unless you provide some good information. Barring that, I expect the respect I give. You don’t have to like me or agree with me, but if you act like I child with me, your opinion becomes less valid.
----
Outside of my attempts at discussion, you can find tons and tons and tons of shipping and girlslash and fan-girling. There’s your warning.

Please employ the green theme whilst viewing this blog as I made it just for you all. It’s super attractive, I promise.

Talk to me and ask me stuff because I'm perpetually bored!

Xena: Warrior Princess … Fan Spinoff?

Please allow me to test the waters with my fellow Xenites on Tumblr.

So, I watched Xena over the past few months and, well, I fell in love.

I was also sparked with inspiration.

According to sources and interviews, the girls would have loved to do a film or some kind of closure for the series and the fans that went beyond “A friend in need”. Due to some paperwork issues however, its looking like the girls will not be reprising their roles - at least not exactly how they once were.

I believe it was Rob Tapert, one of the creators of Xena who said that he felt that any sort of final film for Xena as she was was pretty much out of the question at this point, on the other hand however, he also mentioned the idea of having another similar heroine or perhaps a film or a remake of the series with new actors. Personally, I cannot get behind a Xena that does not have Renee Oconner as Gabrielle and Lucy Lawless as Xena.

Back to my spark:

The idea for a girl came to me. She was helped by Xena and influenced by her legend. This girl is not just like Xena, she has her own quirks and her own journey, but she leads a similar path. And when the time comes that she is to be put on the right path, it is both with the help of her guardian goddess and her own version of Gabrielle and she finds a way to do good - to fight for the greater good.

Now, I am seriously considering putting a lot of time and effort into making a sort of “pilot film” for this idea. I was hoping to create a short introductory teaser about the idea and the story of this girl and to set up the story of the film. I was thinking of beginning a Kickstarter if I could garner enough interest.

And, in a perfect world, if I were able to get my way and we were to go viral and people were to really connect with the film, theoretically, this idea would blossom into further development be it in the form of television, films or maybe even a webseries. In whichever direction it may go, i would hope to provide some better closure to my fellow Xenite fans who may have been disappointed by the ending or even felt that it was simply poorly done. I would also love to further tell the story of this girl and her antics as well as her relationship with the gods and goddesses and other people, particularly her “Gabrielle”.

The question is, would there be interest? Could I count on your support and your ability to spread this film, once released, like hotcakes at an IHOP? To show as many people as possible?

Obviously, I would do my best to hold my end of the deal and create a compelling film and character that you would want to share with your friends and others.

What do you think?

Replies are open, response rebloggs are encouraged, drop a line in my ask box and let me know what you think. I would be so very thrilled to hear from you and would love to tell you more about the idea.

Best wishes and love,

Sara
